Prosperity of Mind

 Prosperity of mind is good,

Prosperity with money is not that good,

Former gives one peace,

Later gives one ego,

Peace of mind is a gift one,

Given to oneself,

Just expecting nothing,

From anyone,.

Giving respect,

Is like investment,

Whatever you give to others,

Will return you back with interest,

With peace of mind,

One may find one is walking slow,

But remember one wishes to,

Go to top,

Never go up,

While running.

Principle of Chemistry and Diversity on Earth

All students of science know that every thing on this earth is made of different types of atoms. But each stom contain number of electrons.Accorging to Ethen siegal “Each electron, in addition to the quantum properties inherent to themselves (like mass, charge,  etc.) also have quantum properties that are specific to the bound state they’re in. When they’re bound to an atomic nucleus, that includes energy level, angular momentum, magnetic quantum number, and spin quantum number.”

The lowest-energy electron in an atom will occupy the lowest (n = 1) energy level, and will have no angular momentum (l = 0) and therefore a magnetic quantum number of 0 as well. The electron’s spin, though, offers a second possibility. Every electron has a spin of ½, and so will the electron in the lowest-energy (1s) state in an atom.

When one add a second electron, it can have the same spin but be oriented in the opposite direction, for an effective spin of -½. This way, one can accomodsy two electrons into the 1s orbital

The Pauli Exclusion Principle — and the fact that we have the quantum numbers given by Bohrs model of atom,— is what gives each individual atom their own unique structure.

As one add greater numbers of electrons to ones atoms, one has to go to higher energy levels, there will be greater angular momenta, and increasingly more complex orbitals to find homes for all of them.

The energy levels work as follows:

The lowest (n = 1) energy level has an s-orbital only, as it has no angular momentum (l = 0) and can hold just two (spin +½ and -½) electrons.

The second (n = 2) energy level has s-orbitals and p-orbitals, as it can have an angular momentum of 0 (l = 0) or 1 (l = 1), which means you can have the 2s orbital (where you have spin +½ and -½ electrons) holding two electrons and the 2p orbital (with magnetic numbers -1, 0, and +1, each of which holds spin +½ and -½ electrons) holding six electrons.

The third (n = 3) energy level has s, p, and d-orbitals, where the d-orbital has an angular momentum of 2 (l = 2), and therefore can have five possibilities for magnetic numbers (-2, -1, 0, +1, +2), and can therefore hold a total of ten electrons, in addition to the 3s (which holds two electrons) and 3p (which holds six electrons) orbitals.

Each individual atom on the periodic table, under this vital quantum rule, will have a different electron configuration than every other element.

According to Siegal “No two elements, no matter how similar, will be the same in terms of the structures they form. This is the root of why we have so many possibilities for how many different types of molecules and complex structures that we can form with just a few simple raw ingredients. Each new electron that we add has to have different quantum numbers than all the electrons before it, which alters how that atom will interact with everything element. “

Hence for each individual atom of when combining with any other atom to form a chemical or biological compound there are many possibilities. There is  limit less possible combinations that atoms can come together in;

It is also true while certain configurations are certainly more energetically favorable than others, a variety of energy conditions exist in nature, forming the way to form compounds that even the cleverest of humans would have difficulty imagining.

Question is what is the reason that atoms behave this way, and that there are so many wonderful compounds are formed by combining them. The answer is  that one cannot put an arbitrary number of electrons into the same quantum state. Electrons are fermions, and we mostly  underappreciat  Paulis quantum rule ,but it is the one who prevents any two identical fermions from having the same exact quantum numbers.

According to Siegal”If we didn’t have the Pauli Exclusion Principle to prevent multiple fermions from having the same quantum state, our Universe would be extremely different. Every atom would have almost identical properties to hydrogen, making the possible structures we could form extremely simplistic. White dwarf stars and neutron stars, held up in our Universe by the degeneracy pressure provided by the Pauli Exclusion Principle, would collapse into black holes. And, most horrifically, carbon-based organic compounds — the building blocks of all life as we know it — would be an impossibility for us.”

The Pauli Exclusion Principle isn’t the first thing we think of when we think of the quantum rules that govern reality, but it should be given first thought.

Friends without quantum uncertainty or wave-particle duality, our Universe would be different, but life could still exist.

Moral of story is Pauli exclusion principle is bold principle which has given diversity in species of this Earth.

Social capital of my grandparents village

When I was small my whole family used to visit our village during summer vacation. It was such a great experience visiting out grand parents. Village was very clean and we will go for morning walk in mango tree garden, near by it was so refreshing to see wheat crops. We were privileged in sense every one recognized that we are grand children of lawyer Kohli. Every one treated us like guest. Which side of village we go we were welcomed with open arms.

It was very pleasant experience for all of us, but since I was very small could never find out why it was so, ie why it was such a rich experience visiting my grandparents.

Now I have grown old, I can analyse that people of my grand parents village were very wise. Every saturday night village had panchayat and people having any ‘x’ problem was given sympathetic hearing. My grand parents were also deeply involved in such activities, that’s why they were being respected so much by villagers.

Friends moral of story is that my grand parents village has good amout of social capital, therefore people who had personal capital were happy  and felt proud to live in that village. Same was the reason ie social capital of the village made us- children happy visiting our grand parents.

Visit to History Museum

Once we visited history museum with our students.Students were realy taken s back when they saw in olden time kitchen there were no cooking gas, but instead coal stoves were available for cooking and ladies used to spend great amount of time in cooking. In olden kitchen there was no fridge and woman had to cook every thing fresh. All this time she used to curtail from her personal time. That’s why woman in old times were reduced for house hold activities.

History museum paintings showed people in olden time did not have variety of clothes to wear. Life was tough but simple.

After visiting history museum I told students that they should  be grateful if the modern world has freed up time for them. As one does not  spend ones days cultivating food and tending livestock, giving ones time to explore ones interests.

Therefore students please don’t waste ones time worrying about things that are not going to matter hundreds of years from now, such as scrolling social media endlessly and wasting ones days commenting on pointless things on the internet.

I educated my students I posed a question to them. Please ask yourself: do you want to be someone who makes a difference to your family or community, or do you want to waste the advancements in technology, science and art that have enabled you .

My Rich vs wealthy Friends

had one friend Ram. He  used to earn vey well but he was in habit of over spending. He was fond of collecting good cars. One car always was on loan. I used to tell him his policy of spending money is not right. I used to question him why you need three cars. He had no concrete answer to my questions.

I has one friend Ms Gita, she was also earning very well. But she will never overspend her money. She had one car. She used to maintain it very well. I was so impressed by her good habits of spending money. She used to do charity work from her income. She believed in contributing to society. She will never boast about her money.

At once I realized my friend Ram is rich person while my friend Gita is wealthy person.

Moral of story is, if one is blessed with money it is better one should try to be wealthy rather than rich.

Dynamics of becoming Rich Person

had big group of friends, after our college classes fished. We had to wait for about 50 minutes to catch bus to home town. We always use to have good discussion on one topic or other.

Once there was a good discussion how some people feel good in projecting themselves that they are rich.

I was of opinion that one can either look rich or be rich, but one probably won’t live long enough to accomplish both.

During discussion we friends came to conclusion that there are only five ways to get rich:

1.marry money – me and always working towards earning money

2.Exploit a unique talent, – means like some good chef whi have good cooking skills use their skills to earn money

3.There are people who are exceedingly lucky- happen to get rich

4.There are persons who have either own or lead a successful business are rich

5.Last trick to get rich is to spend less than one make and invest those savings wisely over long periods of time.

Even as one is aiming for any of the first four, one should practice the last one and one is guaranteed to be rich eventually.

Creative writing-Energy Channel

do creative writing  . I do science arts writing also. This activity makes my mind active all time. It gives me analytical skills and sense of justice. On the whole it makes me healthy physically and mentally.

Because of this creative writing I am in touch with many respected persons who keep  same interest as I have. In a way my energy is channelised in right direction. This activity give me social platform.

Due to writing my many thoughts are out of my mind, therefore my mind get relaxed and I feel stress free. When many people read  my writing pieces and send me their valuable comments that becomes force behind which makes me write more. It becomes chain reaction.

I am enjoying my writing. Specifically after retirement this creative writing seems to me like my teaching assignment. Though I miss my students in class, but their comments on my writing gives me pleasure.
