I am a science teacher in a government school. I help my mother run the kitchen and of course house also as and when I have time to do so.
My mother went to my maternal uncle’s house for 15 days. In that period I realised how much endless planning Mother does for running the house.
How my mother gets energy for this endless planning, remembering each thing to be needed for carrying out household activities and organizing events. It was so exhausting in so many ways for me I never understood before.
It was real #education for me. I had to keep #track of groceries, vegetables and fruits. There were so many different categories of mental load inside my brain even when I was teaching in school.
I had to book a gas cylinder for the kitchen to be delivered to my house. I had to collect stitched clothes for my mother from the tailor. I had to collect a dance dress for my youngest sister from school. I had to keep track of my father’s medicine.
Is my father taking all his medicines on time? Is help at home taking care of my father’s food? I had a list of infinite things in my head. I had to keep track of so many dates that I had to follow for some important domestic or office event. As a student of physics, I must say, that I had to keep track of space and time domains relevant to me and my family.
My friends said, “When your mother is out for a few days you look so #anxious.”
In the heart of my heart, I used to tell myself alas! I could describe the inner #dynamics of my emotions to someone dear to me. To whom? I had no proper answer. I only wished I could share with someone my mental #agony.
Those 15 days when my mother was absent from her duties I realized there’s a significant difference between #assisting my mother and #managing an event alone. I was a single soul doing the same, and I was forced to take on the management role.
Now I have realized mental hardness is much more difficult than #physical hardness. I have no words to describe the same.
Inside my heart, I thank my mother from the core of my #heart for allowing me to learn the difference between managing and assisting an event in life.
Managing the event of the house/ office is different from assisting the same. Managing whole family events involves leading and directing the whole family and controlling resources. Assisting family events involves supporting family members by performing specific tasks and giving information.
The experience mentioned above is the knowledge I shared with my students to make them realize that working in different roles in life gives lifetime experiences.
Moral- Essentially, managers make decisions and oversee operations, while assistants provide support and carry out instructions.
Never hesitate to play role of Manager or assistant when opportunity arises.
Are you assisting mother at home in running house.?Please keep doing.
