Things to Avoid in Life.

I used to live in a joint family. There was a lot of fun for the kids, as we had the company of so many cousins brothers and sisters.

Fortunately, my youngest aunt Usha, was a school teacher, the other four aunts were homemakers. As a kid, I used to observe that my four aunts who were homemakers used to make kind #inquiries about aunt Usha who was teaching in school very often. Example Where is Aunt Usha going today etc? There was a lot of #anxiety at home when Aunt Usha's friend used to visit our home.

I was a kid, I did not understand why Usha Aunty's activities were talked about and chased so critically in the house. As I grew older, I realized that Usha Aunty activities are being chased by other aunts who were makers. I never used to appreciate my other four aunts' behavior.

I am an adult now, I understand there is no gain in chasing person x. It is better to learn some new #skills from a person whose skills are better than you. Sometimes it is better to spend that chasing time learning new skills.

Moral - It is good to chase the goals of

your life. Avoid wasting time chasing people.

Finishing line of Life

I am teaching science in government school.

My student Sohan said "Madam I am confused If life is a race, then what is the finishing line?"

I said"Sohan we were once enjoying our holiday in the hills.

My uncle who stays near the place, visited us.

After enjoying some tea in the beautiful climate, he asked us if we wanted to see the most beautiful place in the hills."

Everybody agreed.

My uncle said "Let us travel in two cars.."

My uncle was with my father and some other people in one car, while I and my student Sohan were with other members in the other car.

We were all excited, after so much praise of the place from my uncle, we with my student Sohan drove all the way imagining how beautiful the place would be.

After an hour and a half of driving, our other car stopped in a small village town.

The place was a simple village, with nothing special.

I got out of the car and asked my uncle-

"Is this the place you were talking about, or we must drive more?"

He laughed and said, "The road on which we were driving for the past hour is the beautiful place I was talking about"

I face palmed and stood stunned for a while.

Sohan said "Madam I also didn't notice or appreciate anything despite being a nature admirer, only because I was too much concerned about the destination."

Sohan further said "I kept driving like a robot, imagining to reach a dream destination."

I said This is what happens when we consider life as a race."

Sohan said "Madam wee keep running, and speeding, creating an emotional turbulence in our body and mind, having our focus only on the destination.

I said " You are right Sihan in the race, we ignore all the beautiful destinations which lie throughout the path, where we should have stopped, smiled, enjoyed, relaxed and relished later on."

Sohan said "Madam we think think finishing line of the race is our last days where we are weak, old, irrelevant, waiting to die, and depend on others for everything, while others don't care much for a person who never cared for them."

Finally, after realising our mistake, myself and Sohan got the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery while going back, we even stopped at some points and stood for a while to observe and cherish the mesmerizing beauty of the hills.

I said "Sohan life does not gives us that luxury to go back in time and enjoy all those countless precious moments.Thereforr one should be serious about journey of life.Time and our actions are very important in life."

Paradox of Choices

Sometimes we are provided with too many choices for a given product. It becomes a little tricky to choose one.

I with my daughter went to the grocery store. We wanted to buy good cereal which contain some millet also. There were so many #options available with different flavors with different percentage fibers. The list of nutritional claims was also different. It was so difficult to decide which brand of cereal was better/ best. I got #tired also in this exercise.

In searching for the best cereal my mind was staggered by the positives and negatives of each option. At one point in time, I thought of not making # a decision. I was also afraid of making the wrong decision.

Makers of products think that it is best to give customers # the freedom of choosing products, therefore he gives several choices. But consumers get stuck in the difficulty of knowing the best choice. Instead of increasing customer freedom to have what he want, it #limits his freedom.

The moral- paradox of choice suggests it is like solving a puzzle because learning to choose from given options is hard. Learning to choose well suited option is harder.

Inreplay Between Affection and Perfection

There are many types of beautiful #relationships we make and follow in life.

Family, Kindness, honesty and humility relationships are #fundamentals of our life.

It is not possible that all four types of relationships listed above have no shortcomings or # faults when followed in life.

Nobody can be #perfect. The same applies to relationships also. There could be #imperfections this side or other side of relationship #bridge.

The foundation of all relationships is #love and #affection.

Please never leave the relationship bridge for small faults as #affection/love is always greater than #perfection. You never know in life when you have to #walk on the same relationship bridge.

Relationship bridges are a treasure of our lives. They can be perfect. Sometimes they are not perfect. Therefore it is better to concentrate on relationship bridge. Please make every effort to make every relationship strong healthy and full of affection.

We all know affection is stronger than perfection. Therefore to improve shortcomings of relationships best is to interplay between two.

Precious Gift

A few days back, I was talking to my young friends.

One of my young friends, a mother of three cute kids was confused about her life.

She said ” Madam I remain so much confused the whole day. My #kids are driving me #crazy. “

My young friend continued” I sometimes feel I am not a good mom. My kids are making me so much #uncomfortable. I’m losing my patience. Every night, I wonder how am I going to continue like this.”

I said dear friend” Your youngest child is a small #baby. Babies do cry. That’s how they communicate. Your daughter is a toddler. # Toddlers do scream sometimes. Your eldest kid is #teenager. Teenagers are in the habit of complaining. They have their problems.”

I further added” Teenage is transition to #adult hood. Teenagers undergo physical and emotional changes. Sometimes they are confused about the norms of society. Hence they are not able to concentrate on their studies. Therefore my friends have multiple issues that they face in life. Many teenagers do not have enough expression and skill to speak out about their problems.”

I further explained to her” Sometimes moms, do mutter ‘for heaven’s sake’ under their breath before answering their unique questions. That’s just the way mom talks. “But guess what?

Dear friend, please do understand children should express themselves rather than opt to remain silent. A house filled with noise, with fighting teens and non-stop questions from younger kids, is a #healthy home”.

My friend said” I should truly worry if my children are silent. My toddler daughter is too scared to express herself. My teenage son does not talk to me.”

I said dear friend” By the way, kids don’t drive you #insane, you are a little crazy to think on those lines.”

With my small explanation, my young friend understood key points of her uncomfortable levels about her kids.

She at once took a big breath. That moment she realized that maybe she was doing okay as a parent.

I further said ” Dear friend! You are great and doing well as the mother. Please continue #mothering your children in the right direction. Please do thank almighty God for precious #gifts in the form of children. These energetic noble souls are part of your life. They are #treasure of your life.”

Mothering Does not Stop

My mom is amazing. After my marriage, one day she texted me it seems it will rain today, so my child please do not forget to take your #umbrella.

She always takes care of my food which I like to eat. She makes my favorite besan ladoo with no white sugar when I am about to visit her.

Nani (my mother)was so excited to know how my kids behaved on the first day of their #school. She called me to know how her grandkids made it to the school bus without tears in their eyes.

My mother sends text messages / audio tapes about #lullaby' in her voice "chanda mama dur ke" so listening to her voice audio tape her grandkids could go to sleep.

She buys the best possible trendy fashion clothes and dresses for her daughter and daughter-in-law at a mall.

In her heart, my mother knows that she does not have to do these things anymore but she still does it fondly. Some may say it is her way of passing #time.

But it is her way of expressing her true unconditional #love for her children.

My mom is in the habit of writing poems for grandchildren which they fondly #recite in their school function on Independence Day/ republic day. She is so proud of her grandchildren.

To make my life a little easier, whenever my parents visit me, my mother teaches Mathematics tables from 2 to 20 to my kids and helps them solve difficult #puzzles.

My mother makes sweets/snacks for me and my children, even if she may not have enough strength to do so. She knows very well her children are fully grown and are capable of doing things themselves but making food which her children are fond of is her first passion even in old age.

Mothering/parenting doesn’t stop when her/their kids turn eighteen, move away, or have their children.

It just happens they change their way of mothering/parenting.

Sometimes I wonder, do mothers/ parents have specific unique #DNA /genes which express her/their unconditional love for children and grandchildren?

I strongly feel if mothers were not that kind and positive the world would have gone #insane. Therefore children, who respect the hard work of their mothers rise very high. No work of children could be meaningful or complete without the blessing of their mothers.

Fresh clean liquid water are,

Two mportant apps,

For assessing character of person,

And forming good picture,

And harmonius development of person,

In society and nation,

For growth positive of nation.

Life has been #nonlinear for women. But she makes her life #easy by:

1. Ignoring many things in her life that are controlled by her in-law's family.

2. Adjusting to her “leaky bucket” #husband.

3. Accepting her motherhood with lots of #joy and responsibilities.

4. Letting go of negative things in her life.

5. Working on her skills and making them better concerning time.

6. Taking full responsibility for her home front and professional front.

7. Feeling proud to be home maker.

8. trying her level best to be independent in her way in her day-to-day life.

Papa's Home

Two simple special unique words,

Lift and delight everyone’s mood,

Those words are “Papa’s home”.

My dear dog started jumping up,

And down as soon he hears,

We are going to “Papa’s home”.

My little #toddler start smiling,

Begins! speaking in #excitement,

As I park my car in front,

Of “Papa’s home”.

My elder son is so happy,

To meet Papa at “Papa’s home”

He enjoys sharing stories,

And asking #questions to papa,

Which nobody cares to answer.

“Papa’s home” means there’s another,

Mature adults are affectionate,

In the home take care,

Of all of us.

Papa’s home” means another pair,

Of grown-up hard working helping,

Hands that support me in changing,

Diaper for my toddler and making,

Ginger masala #tea for every member,

Of home even at any odd hour.

“Papa’s home” means I can exchange,

Information with Papa,

My office project is unique.

I ask him how his day-to-day activities,

Was and told him about my activity.

In “Papa’s Home” Papa helps me,

Cooking #dinner,

How fortunate I am standing near,

Kitchen slab sipping #coffee,

While my dear father,

Is making curry for dinner.

“Papa’s home” means playing indoors,

Games with the #kids on the floor,

Or throwing balls in every corner,

Of home here and there.

“Papa’s home” gives fresh oxygen,

And new life to all members,

Of family all long days.

“Papa’s home” is one of my family,

favorite moments of every day,

I eagerly look forward to visiting my,

“papa’s home “with joy,

It is like taking a bath holy,

In mother #Ganga river,

With energy positive,

God bless my “papa’s home”.

Part of Her Life

I was part of my daughter's life when she was in primary and secondary school. I was regular in guiding her about difficult questions of homework in every subject.

For the subject of mathematics, I was very particular and would make my daughter do difficult exercises of Mathematics questions asked in the Olympiad competition examination.

To make my daughter good in English language #grammar, I would help her in writing the main news in her notebook from #newspaper.

To make my daughter efficient in public speaking, I would help her with #debate topics organized by the school.

Above mentioned activities of my daughter in which I was fully involved, I became part of my daughter's life and gradually changed her #maturity level.

As a mother, I was still on the look out to find ways so that I could be a part of my daughter's life. I took care that those ways of helping my daughter be appropriate for my daughter's age.

I used to do little crochet crafts with the help of a U tube with my daughter. Doing crafts together, going out to lunch or the movies, going to the gym together or going away on a weekend together was a way of my life.

I made it a point, that my consistent presence in my daughter’s life should create a strong bond between me and my daughter. I tried my level best that I should be available to listen to her auto talk and give her some good #suggestions whenever possible.

Now my daughter has grown up…Sometimes mother and daughter have some very passionate disagreements. There are times when I(my mother) feel like my daughter’s degree of #disagreement has gone to a higher level.

When this happens, I back off a bit, but don't let her think that I am angry.

Even if my daughter says something in anger that hurts my feelings, I always say, “My daughter I understand you are feeling bad, but I love you and it just makes me feel #sad when you get so angry. I am sorry if I did anything to #upset you, and I am here for you.”

As daughters become women and have their own families, sometimes they have to face odd circumstances and they do not agree with their mom.

The fact of life is daughter /daughter-in-law will always need #mother.

I wish and pray to God” Please give me ( mother)strength as I am part of my daughter’s life, the same way I could become part of my daughter-in-law's life and #strengthen my son’s family.”

In the language of Mathematics, let variable daughter =daughter-in -law and all happening remain the same as mentioned above about my daughter.

Special Dinner Special Thoughts

I am a science teacher in a government school.

In Indian #marriage dinner which is given in honor of #groom side guests by #bride parents is good. The bride side makes every effort that dinner served on a special night must be excellent so that everyone enjoys each dish served at dinner. Sweet dishes in that dinner have a special place. Sincere efforts are made to serve the best sweets, brought from places where the special sweet dish belongs. #Planning of same is done many days ahead of the marriage date.

In bride side respected seniors have a dream to serve the best possible dishes to the groom's side guest.

With all these efforts, still you will find people guests to wedding #criticizing dishes served at the wedding party. Some guests say undesirable things about dinner. They never realize the gravity of the situation.

The same happened in the marriage of my female student. It so happened father of my student who was getting married heard all criticism about dinner. At that time father of bride had no control over the situation.

After the marriage of his daughter, the father of bride said “Madam some guests attending the marriage of my daughter have no idea how much effort and money the bride side has spent in #arranging same.”

I felt very sad for my student’s father. Taking a lesson from the same I wish to say ” Please remember it is not good to criticize dishes of dinner served by the bride side on the occasion of marriage. Please realize each dish served in the special dinner has so many sentiments attached . Everyone must give serious thought to this.

To conclude in this exercise of arranging dinner for guests parents of the bride have given so much in terms of time, energy and #money.

If I extrapolate the efforts of the bride side, I can say that the time taken to prepare each dish served for dinner at the wedding sometimes is equivalent to the age of their dear #daughter. The taste of each dish comes on the dinner table when seniors of the bride's side cut so many expenses in their day-to-day life. Dishes served at dinner are nothing but the collective hard work of many people from the bride's side.

Please do consider all points mentioned above, which are food for thought, before criticizing food served at the marriage party. I seriously think that all guests attending the marriage party if avoid negative gossip, that itself be a big contribution to strong relationship bridges.

Embroidery on Values of Life

I am a science teacher in a government school. I always tell my students not to #waste paper, clothes and food at any stage of life.

I remember my grandmother, her hardworking hands were always busy #saving something or other. She came from a generation that sewed holes in socks instead of throwing them away.

New blouses to be worn with a sari were created by my grandma from the leftovers of a sheet of #fabric, for the little one-stiched garments.

As I looked at her, I kept looking at the wedding ring, which she never took off even after my Grandpa passed away, in fact, she wore it as a #pendant.

All the time she was busy mending and mending, in fifty years of marriage, with her humble efforts she was busy helping our needy neighbors. Her generation was unique, they valued things and #people.

The best example of the best doing of my grandmother, I still remember is unique which touches my heart.

Sometimes my father would not like his mother visit to her parents. My father was of the view when the children’s mother is away, the children of the house get #neglected. But my grandma at that time will mend my father’s heart and as well my mother’s heart.

My grandma will say ” Let my daughter-in-law go to her mother for just one day, as her visit to her parents will give her a different kind of #energy, which on earth nobody can give her.”

Her kind gesture to my mother was so touching and I still remember it till today. This has become more meaningful to me when every day I hear stories of mother-in-laws who sometimes use their wisdom and power for wrongdoing and forget to embroider values of life and create difficulties for their daughter-in-law in day-to-day life.

As I looked at her, I kept looking at the wedding ring, which she never took off even after my Grandpa passed away, in fact, she wore it as a pendant.

Good Administrator

I am a science teacher in a government school.

Another day, I had the good fortune to be part of a meeting of my old students who are good administrators. I am listing some parts of their conversation in the meeting which are important below. I shared with my students in co-curricular activity class during #school hours.

Sanjay said “My observation is good administrators never let any activity in a whole day turn to bitter #experience. “

Raju said” Good administrators never let the negative experience of his life turn him/ her cold. He/she faces it #boldly “

Rakesh said,” Good administrator always stay #soft in his/ her talking even when many things are not on his/her side.”

Uma said,” Sometimes many things happen in his/her life which is life-threatening, but with strong will #power he/she overcomes them.”

Manish said ” Good administrator is a bigger #human being. Pain in his/ her life never defines him/her.

I said,” A good administrator always makes his/ her institution #rise."

After the above-mentioned meeting. I got an opportunity to interact with my students. From the discussion, students concluded that good administrators should possess

1. Strong Organizational capacity of time.

2. Good communication skills

3. Ability to solve problems

4. Approach to maintain a positive attitude in life.

I was so happy that now my students also know which skills to work on in their personality if they wish to be good administrator.

Dynamics of Consuming Less and Creating More

am aI science teacher in a government school.

After passing out 12th class from school many of my female students did #nursery training and startedv teaching preschool kids in private schools.

Some of my other female students learned #classical dance for two years. It so happened they got married and could not continue dance training. Since they are creative girls they are always teaching dance to 3 to 4 kids at home. For them, it is not a question of money. They are putting in these sincere efforts as they wish that their passion for creativity remains alive in them. I appreciate their cooperative in-laws also who are so #encouraging of their daughter-in-law.

One of my students is good at baking and makes #cakes on order with no sugar/ egg. These types of cakes are very much in demand as people are very conscious about the consumption of sugar.

Some of my female students help design experts in making ready-made #garments. Some are learning computer courses also.

Taking inspiration from me, some of my students are putting their creative skills into #writing. Some are involved in # the translation of articles from one language to another.

I feel so proud of these female students because when they create, definitely they #consume less, this is the law of nature. Less consumption of TV, Netflix, and YouTube time. It’s a great achievement in this world of science and technology.

Many people spend a lot of time watching TV and YouTube but never put that knowledge into action. That superficial knowledge they make use of in gossiping on the phone.

I tell my students please write more, paint more, create more discussions, and products and bring your #ideas out into the world as and when possible.

Even in my school, I encourage a lot of #debate topics that are relevant to society, to be taken up by students. Students' thoughts are creative and bring new ideas to the world. I am also in favor of making abstract and concrete educational collages for students. Some creative students put life in digital educational #collages through their selection of lovely shades of colors.

Many students say” Madam we think that we are learning from audio/ video content but as soon as we try to put that knowledge into action we feel some pieces are missing. This is because too much knowledge of contents # paralyze thinking.”

I always advise my students to set boundaries for consumption: Limit your time spent on consuming content. Maybe it’s just 30 minutes a day of watching videos or reading articles. You should dedicate the rest of your time to creating.

Many students make creative activities part of their #routine: some write, design, record, or do any creative work, they do it consistently, even if they may not get into Perfection.

These students are role #models for many other students.

Students' creativity inclination makes them #successful in any effort they do in life.

These students believe in creating more and consuming less.I so proud of my students and wish them well in every activity they do in life.

Are you spending lot of time on TV and gossiping please think and try to spend time in creative activities if possible.

I am not Your Property

I am a science teacher in a government school. My next-door neighbors are fond of #dog and they have a pet dog Romi. They treat him very well. They keep him in #kennel outside their house. When I come home from school dog greets me, I feel very happy to see him greeting me.

The other day I was about to sleep after preparing my lecture to be taught in class. Suddenly I saw a dog near me. I greeted him. He said “Madam I am a dog. You know madam I am not capable of taking care of myself without human’s help. Some of my friend's owners sometimes tie my friends up and forget to feed my friends #properly, I do realize those owners must be having some problems at their hands as to why they behave in such a way. But madam sometimes it becomes too much for my friends. I feel #sorry for them.”

Dog further said “Some of my friends (dogs) are abandoned by persons on a forgotten #road. In that condition my friends feel afraid and #lonely. My friends look for the owner and wonder why they left them behind. I feel sorry for my friends. Madam we dogs are not #property that one can throw away and #forget.”

Dog further said, “Madam sometimes if the owner chooses to leave us dogs in a kennel, we get fearful and expect that every sound of footsteps we hear from that moment on will be our owner, coming to find us.”

I said ” Dear dog for me you are not just a dog – you are a living, breathing #creature. If person x chooses to take the dog home, I expect that he will give him (dog) the things a dog needs to be happy and healthy.”

Dog further said ” Madam we dogs expect good food, clean water, a warm bed, and lots of love. Don’t abandon us. Don’t kick us. Don’t leave us when life gets busy. “

I said,” Dear doggy whenever my student brings a pet dog home, I always ask him/her please, commit with me while your pet is alive and never abandon him(dog), otherwise dear student don’t bring pet dog at home .”

I soon realized all this episode was a sweet dream. I shared the same with my neighbors, husband and family.

Important Skills

I am a science teacher in a government school. When I demonstrate science experiments in class, my main emphasis is on the great power of skill ie #observation.

I am listing a few examples of the same below

Preparation of Oxygen in the lab. Potassium permanganate is heated in the presence of Manganese oxide. Oxygen is collected in a gas jar through water #displacement.

I ask students to do the following observation

1.What is color of Potassium Permanganate.(answer- dark purple in colour)

2. Why is oxygen collected through water displacement (answer- oxygen is insoluble in water)

I make it compulsory for every student to wear eye protection while performing this experiment.

I also share observations about natural phenomena of Nature. Some examples I give to my students are listed below.

a. Yellow leaves fall new leaves come out in trees during specific seasons of the year.

b.When raw fruit ripes it changes colour.

c. When cooked food decays it gives a foul smell.

While teaching I concentrate that while gaining knowledge in a particular field it is best to acquire some important skills also.

#Deep diving skill

What is deep diving skill? The same can be explained in the following example.

Many times some students tell lies about their marks obtained in examinations. But they forget by doing so they are not helping themselves.

By deep #diving, they will soon realize with time that being dishonest with themselves they are disturbing their soul.

Deep diving power skill is used by police officers. They cross-examine each case of crime from many angles. To examine each angle of crime they dive deep to find the truth of happening. Diving deeply into topics can be time-consuming and challenging, it is undoubtedly a key to #success.

Power of connecting the #dots:

The same can be explained by the following example which I experience in day-to-day life.

I learned to make vegetable rice through instruction from my mother.

My mother instructed me to put turmeric along with rice while cooking vegetable rice.

For cooking lemon rice my mother instructed me to first boil rice separately. Then put turmeric and lemon on boiled rice. On mixing two, a bright #golden yellow color will appear.

I observed in preparing lemon rice yellow color appeared to be a golden yellow shade, which is different from the han yellow color of vegetable rice.

Above mentioned two observations were like dots of information in my mind.

Why color of the two types of rice is different? I connected the dots through two types of rice cooking experiences.

I connected the dots by following the procedure.
