Magic of silver

The chemical symbol for silver, Ag, comes from the Latin word for silver, argentum, which in turn derives from the Sanskrit word argunus, meaning to shine.

Being a reflective element, it can be useful in mirrors, telescopes, microscopes and solar cells.

The words 'silver' and 'money' are the same in fourteen languages or more.

Silver was one of the first five elements discovered, along with gold, copper, lead and iron.

Now a days Silver prizes are very high.

Reason for its being very costly is that silver metal is highly conducting in nature and is used in many electric devises.

To conclude  silver functions as both an industrial material and a precious metal,

Different Aroma of Leadership

Indian curry powder is used in making

Distinct exotic curries for different dishes,

I prepare this curry powder at home,

I grind roasted curry leaves,

 roasted garlic,

which has a bitter and nutty taste,

Split roasted black grams,

 Dietary fiber- roasted sesame seeds,

which are high in protein,

Vitamin B1 source of phosphorus,

 iron, magnesium, calcium, manganese,

copper and zinc

Roasted red whole chili,

Roasted cumin has a warm,

 Earthy flavor and aroma

with a bit of both sweetness and bitterness.

 Roasted peanut,

Roasted Ginger produces a warming and fiery peppery taste.

Compound Gingerol present in it

Creates a hot Sensation in it together,

While working with students in the lab,

I suddenly thought about curry powder wonders!!

Every spice present in it has a unique flavor, taste and aroma,

Some are tangy, zesty, sour or fruity, salty,

Few are bitter, hot, sweet or nutty!

Each spice has a special quality which give benefit to health.

Suddenly, from my subconscious mind, I got a ha! Moments in the lab,

Oh! I see that these spices are present in curry powder,

Students in my research science lab, too, are varied,

With distinct traits, some are calm, a few are always worried! Some courageous,

When they follow their goals with passion, they sometimes,

Get roasted ground and put to the test by different circumstances,

They emerge out to be gold the best!.

Like different spices present in curry powder, they have different aromas of leadership,

Scientific temperament, cooperation, hardworking capacity and entrepreneurship ability,

Spreading the aroma of their talent all around with their hard work and good management,

Filling joy, energy, pleasantness and happiness where they surround!

When these brilliant minds are just as different spices ground together, like in curry powder,

They emit a fragrance so exotic and discreet altogether,

Students who have talents rare and diverse, and scientific brains,

Worked in a science research lab when it merged as one,

For national and international goals,

To reduce the sufferings of humanity,

Build a beautiful, strong nation -Universe!!

These ah ha! Moments made me remember all my wonderful students,

I could not believe my photographic memory at this stage of my life,

These ah ha! Moments are my infinite gratitude

Towards my motherland, students and research lab,

They fill my heart with the highest spirit of serving my country.

Seven Important Years

The other day, I was traveling on the metro to go back home. I noticed one young lady was passing a smile to me.

I was able to recognize her a bit. I was sure she was one of our good old students. She came near to me and said,” Madam, I am Sushma”.I at once recognized my talented young girl, Sushma, full of energy. I asked, “Sushma, I am meeting you after 7 years, so how is life, my dear student?”

Sushma, in her typical old-style tone, said,” Madam.

1st year I thought it was understanding.

2nd year I thought it was adjustments.

In 3rd year I thought it was #Trust.

In the 4th year, I thought it was #communication.

In the 5th year, I thought it was #compromises.

In the 6th year, I thought it was  Gratitude .

7th year, I am sure it is #Patience.

Knowing Sushma, I could guess she is talking  something important and interesting.

I asked her what you are all talking dear student.

She said,” Madam, just make a wild guess who I am talking to you.”

I was so happy to see my student, who was teaching in a public school being so concrete and crispy  in her casual talk, and at the same time putting conversation in the form of a #riddle.

I told Susma the answer to the riddle is “marriage.”

Sushma said,” You are partly correct, madam.”

I asked Susma what the correct answer to riddle.

Sushma said the correct answer is” Key to successful happy marriage.”

I said Good Sushma you have put the experience of your married life

In seven beautiful lines.

Try to solve your own problems

My friend Sita and I were teaching in a private school. Sita got married, and her in-laws had a joint business. There were around ten people in a joint family. Initially, things were right with Sita. She was reasonably happy with the treatment she was getting at her in-laws' place.

As luck would have it, Sita's in-laws' family business started declining. Sita had to face a lot of problems from in in-laws' family. Whatever help Sita's Parents will give in terms of cash and kind, Sita's in-laws were not happy. Sita was finding it extremely difficult to face that odd situation.

I told Sita, Please accept the realities. If you realize it soon, it's the best. It's rare to find people who will help you out of a critical situation; rather, you will find people who gossip and laugh at your situation, and some will feel pity. Therefore, be bold, my dear friend  Sita and face the situation. Sita continued her dialogue with God in the form of morning prayer. This regular activity gave her strength.

God helped Sita in a difficult situation. She got a Government school teaching job at a higher post than her previous one. Her pay packet was much higher than the previous one. Sita was happy with this positive change in her life. After one year, she was blessed with a daughter. With a little child in the house, Sita's in-laws' family was also very happy. Sita was thankful to me as I advised her not to expect any help from anyone. God helps those who help themselves. Sita became indifferent and concentrated on her work of teaching. Soon she became popular among her students. That fame gave Sita so much courage and a peaceful mind that Sita became a different person altogether.

Moral of the story- Instead of feeling depressed and expecting help from outside people, isn't it better one just try to take one's responsibility and not hope for anyone's help and have solutions to one's problems with own hard work and courage.

Forest science and life

Science  of forest and water resources turning light into life.

In open field  in morning Sun light,
 Is harsh and direct,
Low humidity, low carbon dioxide exist ,
Air near ground is hot ,
That  often makes window stomata,
On leaves of trees,
 Partially shut,
Signature of slow photo synthesis,
 Is observed in plains .

In green  forest friend,
Morning breaks on  forest  shore,
Water sources rivers ponds flow.

With dappled light on the forest floor,
The biodiversity of trees get stir,
The giant and small trees wake and whisper ,
And the greatest nature,
Reaction photosynthesis,
 Takes place creating wonders.

 Timing wonderful has healthy forest,
Green Chlorophyll catches the sun's warm ray,
An engine of green forest  begins to play.
Water rushes from roots of trees, Present in soil in the dark,
Goes up through the tissues,
Xylem  and the tree bark.
With the high humid cool breeze, Carbon dioxide  floats ,
Through the open stomato of various tree leaves,
Faster and faster the forest breathes.

Sunlight interacts ,
With water and air,
Some part of sunlight,
 Refracts through surface  water,
Is used for photosynthesis ,
By palnts life inside water.

Sunlight from Sun and,
Sunlight reflected through sources water ,
Creats the magic that lingers and spreads,
Sweet glucose builds ,
The trunk and the seed,
Of tree fueling the energy in woods,
 At rate of lightning speed.
Rate of photosynthesis is fast
In forest.

When oxygen gets released,
From the stomata window of  leaves ,
This life saving  breath of forest,
Minimises  decay and death on planet.

Under the bough strees in forest,
 Where water resources flow ,
And the sunbeams run,
Humanity relaxes in presence of God.

Come and all,
Let us thank Sun,
And water resources,
For feasting green forest to us.

Let us thank forest,
For breathing out life,
So fresh, so clean, for planet.

Light and water sources of forest,
Makes ancient pact ,
of mutual life,
Which help mankind live with peace.

Concept of Time

Once I got the chance to interact with primary school children. It was a very joyful experience for me.

Children were eager to know "what time is"?How concept of time related to our holy Earth?

I wanted to explain the concept of time to kids in a very simple way. My submissions were as follows.

I wrote a small article  Day-Night". The same I am listing below for my esteemed readers.

Friends, there is a concept of time; time moves on, therefore we have day and night. Our Earth revolves around its own axis like a toy  spin top". This spinning process of Mother Earth makes day and night for us. When part of the Earth is in front of Sun, then there is day on Earth. Part of Earth that is away from the Sun, there is night in that part of Earth.

  Revolution around its own axis

Mother Earth takes 24 hours to complete one revolution around its own axis. Friends, this 24-hour interval we have named as"TIME".

Understand the importance of managing your time effectively.

Moral of the Story- The answer to your question What is TIME?

1. TIME is there because of Earth's rotation speed , that's why time always MOVES.

2. Because Earth rotates on its own axis, we have day and night on Earth.

Do you respect the Effective Molecule of Life

One day in my dream, while doing my routine walk, I met a very important molecule on my way. After the exchange of greetings, a molecule containing two Hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom started talking to me. He told me, "Madam, mostly I am available in liquid form. I have a #trick for you. One of the simplest and most effective ways to improve your health is to #drink more of me.   I am essential for your body and mind, and I can give you many #benefits that you may not be aware of."

"I help you flush out #toxins and waste from your body. I am involved in many processes that regulate your metabolism, digestion, circulation, and immunity. Drinking more can help your body get rid of harmful substances and maintain a healthy balance."

"I help you improve your skin and hair quality. I am vital for keeping your skin and hair hydrated and nourished. Drinking more of me can help you prevent dryness, dullness, and breakage, and give you a radiant and youthful appearance."

"I help you control your #appetite and weight. I can make you feel full and reduce your cravings for unhealthy snacks and drinks. Drinking more of me can also boost your #metabolism and help you burn more calories."

"As you can see, madam drinking more of me is one of the best life lessons you can learn about health. It's simple, cheap, and effective, and it can make a huge difference in your #well-being."

I very humbly asked him May I know your name, please.

Zenith of Career

Relationships (Marriages) are the most important part of one's life. Far more important than #careers and work, even though a lot of young people in the #zenith of their own careers may not feel so.

Relationship skills are not taught at all, and nobody prepares one for #marriage. It is extremely important to read about marriage along with #understanding one's own self as well as the other.

Most relationships can be #mended when both parties are willing to. The only thing that matters in life, as well as relationships, is "will".

Sometimes there are unknown forces that tear apart strong relationships, but with the help of strong will from both ends,s make the relationship stronger than

STEM vs STEAM

There are many format of# STEM-science,technology,engineering,Mathematics.STEM education is backbone of any country.Young generation can fetch high salaried jobs with STEM education.

Not including humanities in STEM is a #myopic view. There is strong view among educationist that STEM is actually STEAM- Science, Tech, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Math and STEAM process are very useful in logically analysing history and other humanities subjects. The question is what is benefit of including humanities with STEM education.Answer is Humanities is must for students as it teaches them human values which one practices in life

STEAM education includes courses in humanities such as language, sociology,# economics, accounts, commerce and management. Teaching 15% STEAM courses to students of science, humanities, and commerce is necessary for them to be a little bit more disciplined and purposeful in life

Fullest Life

I have been teaching science in school. To make my lesson more effective, I often do science arts writing to train young minds. In my co-curricular activity time, the topic for debate was how to lead the best possible life. Students wrote very interesting answers. Some students were confused if they could have better materialistic things available to them, they would have led a better, fuller life. To make my students understand what is full life is, and how to lead the fullest life, I  wrote a poem" Fullest Life" and pasted it on the notice board of the school. The same poem I am listing below for my esteemed readers

Life is such a wide umbrella,

How to get my# fullest life,

I ask this question many times,

To my beloved soul.

With a cup of coffee in my hand,

I sat on my balcony,

I realized to lead the fullest life,

I must concentrate on coffee,

Not on# cup of coffee,

Why so asked my# soul.

 Coffee is  life,

But a cup in which is contained coffee,

Is like a job, money, a position in life, but not life,

They are# means to lead life.

Most affluent are not people,

Who has everything in life,

Most affluent people are,

Who utlise their resources,

In the best possible way,

And remain happy.

This understanding spontaneous,

Made crystal clear all my doubts,

I lost all my false fears of life,

And gained my happiest fullest life.

Parenting Tips Quote Sukarma Thareja

When parents constantly choose peace over boundaries, children miss out on learning important life skills like frustration tolerance, respect, and emotional regulation.

Sukarma Thareja

Remember that parenting isn't about keeping everyone happy all the time; it's about making uncomfortable but necessary choices in the best interest of your child. Sometimes, protecting your child means disappointing others and learning to be okay with that.

Working at Fast Food Joint

 editorial@firesidefiction.com

My friend Neelam used to work in fast fast-food joint. Many of us may think that this job is an easy one. Actually, it is not so. I learnt many good lessons from the experience of my friend Neelam's challenging job. I am listing the same below.

Working at a fast-food job teaches one how to work under pressure and manage one's time. One has to deal with busy periods, long lines, unexpected situations, and multiple tasks at once. One learns how to prioritize, multitask, adapt, and stay calm. One has to follow rules, procedures, and standards in the distribution of food and making bills. These are all important skills for this job.

Working at a fast-food joint teaches one how to appreciate what one has and what others do for others. One will see firsthand how hard these jobs can be, how much effort and energy they require, and how little they pay.

The moral of the story is- one realizes how much workers at a fast food joint work hard, and therefore they deserve respect and recognition for their work. One also realizes how lucky one is to have other opportunities and choices in life. One can learn from fast food joint workers how to be grateful and humble. These are all valuable qualities one should learn from workers at fast food joint.

Different Formats of Rela

 We often talk about relationships,

Sincere efforts help in maintaining relationships,

People  emotional were, our fathers, forefathers,

Hence always cared about relationships.

After that time, some people were practical,

In their nature.

It's good to be practical in caring for relationships,

They did not believe in the " forget and forget philosophy,

In maintaining relationships,

They believed in taking advantage of relationships,

In today day-to-day life and professional life.

Now the new generation is very professional,

For them, if possibility of any transaction is in their favor,

Then only is it useful for establishing a relationship,

Other, wise situation is not favorable in the name of a relationship.

Beauty Lies in Beholder's Eye

I had a friend, Gita, in my school. I joined #B.Sc(Hons)Chemistry in college. While my friend Gita joined #B.Sc(Nursing) in a nursing college.

The other day, Gita was in my dreams. I asked Gita, You have been in such a beautiful profession. Please answer my one unique question.

When is a girl or a woman most beautiful? Gita asked me why I am

I asked her such a question.

I told Gita the same question was asked by my girl student when I

Was teaching in a girls' college. Gita gave me several good points about the same.

I said, dear Gita, a woman is such a #beautiful creation of God; according to me, a woman will be most beautiful in every circumstance.

After discussing the same with my dear mother, I wrote a small poem in the form of a dialogue to paste on my school notice board to educate young minds. The same I am listing below for my respected readers.

When is a Woman Beautiful?

Me- In her teens and early twenties.

When she falls in love and is #loved back equally.

Mother- On the day of her wedding.

On the birth of her child/children.

Me- When she #juggles work at home and the office.

Tired after a full day’s work, she enters the kitchen to cook for her family.

Mother- When the first strands of #grey hair mark her temples.

When she waits for her kids to call her while they are away.

Me- When she gets her kids #married.

 When she becomes a #granny.

Mother- After all this time when she still wakes up early to prepare that special tea for her #husband.

When all her hairs go white, and she becomes #toothless.

Me- Finally, when she #rests in peace

Mother-Ones beauty doesn't exist on its own but is created and appreciated by observers.

A woman's internal beauty always adds to her so-called external beauty.

Moral of the Story: Every girl/woman is internally and externally beautiful, in every way and at all times. One should only have the right eyes to see that. Beauty lies in beholder's eyes. Beauty doesn't exist on its own but is created by beholder

Walking Talking University

One day, a student asked me, "Who was your  favorite teacher, madam?"

My submission to my student is as follows. I wrote the same in the form of a small article, "Walking Talking University", which I am listing below for my esteemed readers.

My mother was my favorite teacher. When I was young, I used to wonder how my mother knew all things, which sometimes my teacher also did not know.

Mothers, while teaching, do not follow any curriculum and subject syllabus. They teach all topics. I don't remember a single topic that my mother did not touch while giving me #informal education.

Mothers teach manners, morals, ethical values, justice,#work-life balance and psychology to

Mother teaches how to stand, sleep, get up, walk, talk, sit down, eat, drink and live #respectable life to children.

Mothers scold, pamper, and decorate children.

Mothers play and sometimes #tease children.

Mothers are friends and # philosopher's guide to children.

Mothers are walking talking university for

Moral of Story-friends nothing could be better than mother, #mother tongue and # motherland

Sea Shells and Vast Ocean

I was  teaching in school. I had the fortune of taking my class to the #sea beach. Some of my students have seen sea beach first time in their life. Some students were very happy to see vastness of sea and water sea waves height.

I sat with my students in safe place in sea beach. It was wonderful experience to be with my students and answering their small queries. Many students were playing with #beach sand .It was unique experience for them.

We were lucky to sea Whales in #marine water.

We did working lunch at beach.Suddenly sky became cloudy.Students noticed that sea wave height also changed.

One of most striking features of beach was #sea shells(Mother of pearl). I told my students most shells come from animal #Mollusks. They have an outermost layers of tissues(mantle) on their bodies.#Mantle creates shell.#Calcium carbonate is main mineral found in #shells(including eggshells)

8 When the animal inside sea shell dies, over time shells break down. They become part of sand.#White beaches have sand made almost entirely bits of shells. These mullusks shell also form real pearls also which we use to form pearl ornaments.

I was o happy to educate my students about #science behind sea shells.

I asked students what message sea give us.

Students gave very creative answers.

I summarize the same below.

Sea is so vast it tells one should be prepared to face vast things in life.

Sea waves height keep varying which shows that our life waves can also be of different height.

Sea is mother of so many different form of#flora and fauna.Which brings oxygen in mother nature atmosphere.

Sea brings diversity in mother nature life.

We must protect all our sea life to bring #richness in our life.

Sea is best gift of mother nature to man kind.

Myself and my students were Ah! when we observed #setting sun on beach.

Moral of story-Friends the shells(mother of pearls) on beach remind us that #treasure arrive in life in form of simple things(sea shells).
