Misconception

I am a science teacher in a government school. I happen to get #opportunity to listen to the personal problems of our students, and if I feel to correct my students # misconceptions, I do it also if my busy schedule #permits.

Many students in my school have #misconception, and they say, "Madam! If we have a refrigerator at home, our family life will be smooth. I say, "Friends some sometimes #refrigerator can bring health problems also. Some people cook extra food and keep eating stale food. This is not good for health. If one does not have #refrigerator at home, one has a greater chance of eating fresh #cooked food.d"

Other misconception -my female students often tell me "Madam since I don't have #washing machine at home so I have to give good amount of my personal time in washing my clothes manually. I very humbly reply to my girl students "friends if one washes clothes manually, one gets chance of exercising one's arm and hand muscles which is must for body. Washing with hands saves a lot of water and helps in #sustainability of the environment. "

These arguments mentioned above may look like #small part of one's life, but #cumulative effects of the same give #big returns to one's life.

Moral - it is good to take the help of #technology in day-to-day life. But at the same time, if sometimes in one #week we do the same work #manually, it is going to be #beneficial for the person and #sustainability of the environment.

Light Approach to Life

I am a science teacher in government school. Many students ask me, "What can we do to #nourish a light #approach to life. " I say," Dear student to do that #remember not to take your thoughts too seriously. Please note that the  #world in which you are growing is temporary, not #permanent, and therefore, to remain serious will not give you any #gains. There's a lot of room in life for ₹₹day-dreaming and trust."

I further say," In some way or other, we’ll always be little kids, because we know so little about our #existence and there's always room for #development and positivity. "Students I sincerely advise you"Try #laughing more, sing your #favorite songs, dance in your style, more like no one is watching you, make beautiful stories, go around the world without judging it and remember to do simple foolish activities like #child that don't hurt anyone, such as taking #rain bath with clothes on but with #bare foots. Please, for #simplicity, purity and #innocence,  remain busy and #positive. Please build the ability to laugh for no reason.

Appreciating Creativity

My student Rekha was # scientist in a national lab. Somehow, she was not able to appreciate her working role in the lab. Rekha was a creative person. Rekha pursued higher education and completed a Ph.D while working in a lab. She resigned from her lab position and joined as #college teacher in a reputed college.

Rekha enjoyed teaching in college. She was keen to inculcate #scientific aptitude in her students. For that, she will apply for small grants from DST and guide students to execute the same. Many students worked in their extra time as they had a big drive to acquire science knowledge. That gave Rekha a lot of happiness and satisfaction.

In tinkering lab of college. Rekha will work in that lab with students who have a passion for the arts. From broken test tubes, boiling tubes, #funnels and coloured liquids like potassium permanganate (dark purple), potassium dichromate(orange)  (aqueous solution), she will persuade students to make three-dimensional models of chemical molecules. Many students used to visit her lab to appreciate how broken #chemistry lab small apparatus can make such beautiful, creative educational aids.

Students always waited for their #slots to work in the lab. She will display all such creations under #STEAM projects. It was big fun and satisfaction for Rekha. Her science #pursuit through STEAM was joy for her. For her creative adventures, she was famous in college.

One day on the phone, Rekha said, "Madam, why have my close friends stopped talking to me? I am confused".

I said, "Rekha, people love you when you are average. I further said, "This shows you are moving forward in your #pursuit. Therefore, Rekha, please carry on your work. "

Moral -Always appreciate one's #creativity and hard work. Feeling Jealous is not a solution. Acceptance of others #talent and success make one strong and #wise.

Parenting Tricks

I have a very disciplined friend, Mr John. He has four school-going kids. He is very supportive for his kids. Making them get up in the morning for school, making a light breakfast for them, etc, is his pleasure. At night, Mr John and his wife keep their children's school uniform ready so that early morning, there are no problems for the kids. Special requirements of children for co-curricular activities, if required by the school(mentioned in the school diary), are also arranged by Mr and Ms John.

John is a believer in strict discipline, which must be followed by kids. As kids grow a little older, John slowly transfers his responsibility, which he was doing for the kids, to them(kids). For example, keeping their school uniform properly in the cupboard. Asking them to arrange special material for their co-curricular activities.

Johns strongly believe that slowly and gradually transforming parents' responsibility towards kids so that those responsibilities become part of kids day to day life is very comforting in kids' lives. Examples like taking a bath, polishing shoes, and packing their own lunch boxes. These activities, though small but a are a big step towards the child's independence.

Johns suggest that this transition has to be Delta x  in nature. If children sometimes miss doing the same, a warning is issued to the kids. But according to John, this practice of giving children responsibility for doing their own things makes them wise, strong and mature.

If parents fail to do this responsibility of transferring small life skills at a younger age, they are creating trouble for children in their future life, especially when they get married. This discipline is very difficult to be inculcated in adulthood.

Moral- pre prerequisite of this training requires that parents are very friendly with kids. Then only they can build up trust in transferring small skills valuable to kids for leading a comfortable life.

Three things to keep in Check

I am a science teacher in a government school. One of my intelligent and mature students, Naresh, runs a coaching center in the city. Naresh is very popular for his quality of work and the degree of empathy he shows his students.

At the Alumni Association function, I had the fortune of meeting my old student Naresh. He said, "Madam, my physical weight has increased due to less physical activity at my coaching center". I said, " Naresh, I am happy for you that you are running a coaching center honestly. But Naresh's body well-being is a must. Therefore, please take a proper diet and do proper exercise also. "

Naresh said, "Madam, nowadays it is very difficult to handle these teenagers. It is difficult to know what is in one's mind. Therefore some sometimes I am emotionally drained".I said "To keep one's emotional levels ok, it is best you meditate at least for half an hour every day. "

Naresh also said, "Madam, keeping one's finances very clear, one has to be really vigilant. I have a very good chartered accountant. But every day, there are new rules to handle one's finances. I have to devote a lot of time per day to make my finances dynamic, transparent, and straightforward."

I said, " It is true, sir, in this world of high technology, if one makes a small mistake in maintaining the physical weight of one's body, a high emotional quotient and transparency in finances, one is going to be in a lot of trouble, sir. "

Naresh said, "Madam, to make all three listed parameters relating to my business straight, I do yoga and physical exercise to keep my physical weight within boundaries.

2. To make my emotional quotient high, I do meditation every day.

3. To help my finances remain straight, I do a lot of philanthropy wherever, ever, whenever required. I am planning to open a school for underprivileged children in our society.  About the tax deduction also I am also very particular, Madam.

I said, "Naresh, we teachers are so happy with your activities. School is so proud of you."  ,

God bless you, dear Naresh, for your efforts; you are putting in all positive activities to build the future of our country. May you get brilliant success in your passion."

Emotional Distancing

My friend Sarla teaches physics in the premier Institute of #India. Students in her Institute get admission through tough #competition.

According to Sarla, "Some first-year students look  #exhausted. They have no #enthusiasm to try something new facility available in #Institute. "

Sarla says, "They seem to be # burnout souls. Actually, it seems they are not able to #cope with the wide curriculum of the degree course in which they are admitted.

One of my Dr friend also says something similar. According to her, "some doctors in her hospital are not able to #cope with their job. They do not treat #patients as humans. Sometimes they treat them as #objects. Actually, they make emotional distance from their #patients. Drs. behave in such a way that they are # burned out in their profession."

In the teaching profession also some teachers are not ready to solve any problem of their students. They are always ready with an answer that #nothing can be done. Actually, these teachers are # burnout for some reason in their personal life and therefore behave in a #similar manner. "

Mortal -it is good to work hard to achieve one's #goal in life. But one should also have some #relaxing activity like #playing music, reading good literature, etc., at his/her disposal so that they should never have a feeling of # burnout.
