Setting Your Boundries

After retiring from my service as a school teacher, my self and my husband were to move to a smaller #house.

The agent who was helping us described the house and furniture in it and said “Madam I am sure you will like the location of the house. You will realise that the house though small but worth # an investment. “

I said gentleman “Happiness is something I choose in advance. Whether I like my small house or not does not depend on the furniture or the #decorations in it. All material  things in our house are secondary to us now.”

A gentleman asked why so madam,  I said “It all depends on how I perceive my new house. I am happy my house is near to my daughter’s house. I can meet my #grandchildren very often. I can teach them, play in-door games with them.”

I further said” Because of this house every day will be a #gift for me and my husband. We don’t have to compete with anyone to get some time to spend with our grandchildren because we can freely give part of our time to our daughter and grandchildren because of the proximity of the house. We wish to focus in the coming days on all small activities that we can do with happiness and ease. We will collect beautiful  #memories, and sometimes  will visit old memories  of life which we both collected in our past.”

My husband said,” In a new house, we wish to get #detached from finances in the bank and hand over most of our finances to our children.”

I further added” In our life we tried our best to deposit happiness in our bank account of memories. Therefore as long we remain in this house we will focus on each new day so that we can #cherish all the happy memories we have collected throughout our life. Therefore gentleman small house will be like # a mansion for us. With the grace of God, our little world will be full of life.”

My husband further said” We wish to give more and expect less in life. Thank you gentlemen for participating in filling our #bank account, where we continue to deposit our experiences of life. We as #grandparents will try to pass on #cultural and family values to our grandchildren. “

Gentleman said,” My sincere advice to both will be to set your #boundaries and avoid being #overstressed.“

Nano Grace

 I was about to fall asleep,

An alien came and said,

Madam have you ever,

Encounter nanoseconds grace,

I said nanosecond is a billionth of time.

That is equivalent to 1/10^9 second,

A whisper, a flash from the camera,

digital heartbeat are example,

 of nanosecond grace.

There are silver nanowires (AgNWs) madam 

Said dear alien,

I said Nanowires are cylindrical nanostructures,

 With diameters ranging from 10 to 100 nanometers

And lengths that can be hundreds to thousands,

of times longer (1-10 micrometer).

I further said:  Silver nanowires

 Are a class of silver nanoparticles,

Which have been widely studied,

For its use in the benefit of human beings.

Alien said: they have exciting optical and thermal properties.

Therefore are capable of unfurling, 

Many applications of  advanced technology,

New scientific findings reflect,

AgNWs are capable of attacking,

  Bacteria and viruses,

Therefore used in making medical masks,

and Sertile surface for medical use,

and in restaurants.

I said,

Dear Alien AgNWs are used in touch screens,

In making of solar cell electrodes,

Supercapacitor in energy storage devices.

Alien said: AgNWs may look small

But They unfold a   tale big,

 to be told,

To our children inquisitive about science.

I said: AgNWs though look tiny,

They may look blink in the frame of time,

AgNWs can be used as layers conductive,

In LEDs and other light-emitting devices tiny.

Alien said: They are like the river of the future

science,

 With the potential  to grow to infinity,

In many fields of science,8

Which secures our bright future.

I said: nanowires(AgNWs) though name nano,

But are eternal in ways,

 Of its scientific  expression,

For the welfare of mankind.

I further said: my granny  always recommended us,

To drink water from a glass made from metal silver,

As it can get a minimum infection from viruses and bacteria.

Today I wonder  how knowledgeable,

My granny was,

Though she had not even nano,

 Knowledge of AgNWs.

Desires and Brownian Motion

 When I was young and studying in primary school I had countless desires in my brain.

The desire to become a teacher, and doctor and join the navy.

Desire to become a good teacher, homemaker mother.

However, I was not able to pinpoint which desire suited best to my #potential inside me.The pool of desires was working in my mind. I was always swimming in that #chaotic pool.

After completing my schooling, one desire  I fulfilled was to help my mother with household chores. I soon realized in this exercise  I have become efficient in handling so many little things in life.

I found my desires are moving like Brownian motion. My mother said” Please focus on one desire and put your energy and time into filling that desire. You can’t  get all your desires filled in one lifetime.”I understood the concept of # channeling my favorite desire in one direction.:.

I was a science student at the secondary school level. I fulfilled my other desire also which was to do my graduation and postgraduation degree from one of the best universities (Delhi)  in India. Another Desire I filled was to do a Ph.D from of good Institute in India.

I am thankful to my parents, respected teachers and friends who helped me in my journey of completing my most favorite desire.

I am teaching science in a post-graduate college. While teaching the concept of Brownian motion I give examples of desires traveling in our brain in the form of Brownian motion. 

I tell my students "While desire in our brain is not exactly identical with Brownian  motion of molecules in fluids there are some similarities:

Desires are random. Molecule movement in fluids has Brownian motion is also random.

Every student has many random desires. The movement of a Brownian particle in fluids is unpredictable, and so can be the manifestation of a desire.

Every student's desire is influenced by external factors like the environment the student is living in. How his/her friends are shaping their own life. Brownian motion in fluids is also influenced by the surrounding fluid, like external pressure and temperature of the fluid. 

Desires in the mind of any person and the Brownian motion of fluid molecules are both complex phenomena. They can be analyzed using mathematical and statistical tools. 

To conclude while there's no direct,  link between the Brownian motion of molecules in fluid and desire. Both can be viewed through the lens of stochastic  behavior  where outcomes are not predetermined but influenced  by randomness and uncertainty."

Students understand the nature of the concept of desire through this simple example.  I am happy as a teacher that I can teach new abstract #concepts in science by taking real examples from life.

Moral: To fulfill your favorite desire in life best is to take a break from your present job. That silent period will make you distant from your self. In the process, you will find a path for how to fulfill a required desire.

How Important is Secure Childhood

 I Was teaching in primary school. Teaching kids of 5-8 years is a lot of fun. I had a student Asha very cute one. But somehow she looked stressed out. I tried to inquire from Asha why it is so. From our interactive healthy conversation, I came to know Asha has an abusive father. 

My student Asha was growing up in an environment of constant threat, constant burdens, and heavy burdens that influenced Asha's everyday function. I started reading about the same and found that under constant fear the stress system is activated excessively. It produces what we call toxic stress, and that disrupts the development of brain circuits during their critical periods. It disrupts the cardiovascular system. It disrupts the immune system and creates the foundation for a greater risk for a whole host of physical and mental health problems and difficulties and learning. That made me greatly concerned about dear Asha.

I talked to our principal madam. Principal Madam fixed a Zoom meeting with Asha's mother and requested the mother to help the child. The Principal told the mother that early experiences of childhood shape a child's biology, creating either a strong or a weak foundation for all the health, learning, and behavior that follow for a lifetime. I as a class teacher was trying my best to make Asha happy and playful in my class.

There were students like Suman, Rekha, and Rakesh whose parents were responsive, warm, and sensitive, which is why these children were doing well in every activity at school. Their language development was good and they had a secure attachment to their parents.

 The expression of warmth could differ across cultures, but I found some parents smile a lot and demonstrate positive affect towards their babies. Their children had positive social developmental outcomes. There were students in my class who had negative experiences, because of exposure to family violence, chronic and harsh parenting, and maltreatment, this threatened the secure attachment of children and consequently, later social development of children was limited.

Unfortunately in India our health sector  always look at child survival, they will look at immunization rates but they will not look at holistic development in the sense that is their language, and social-emotional development.

The moral of the story is parents should give a happy and secure childhood to their children. If parents are not able to do so, they are neither helping children nor society in development.

Emotionless Zombie

My father always used to say"Dear daughter since you are in teaching #profession, therefore my sincere advise to you is treat yourself well. Do practice honesty, hard work and kindness in class room #teaching. I am saying you so as at the end we all are going to become stories in #history."

 I said " Father, I understand, you mean to say I should try to act as emotionless #Zombie while teaching, like our dedicated teachers." 

 My father said" Yes my child!.to act as emotionless Zombie you can always talk outside #politics/religion/personal details." 

 I said"it means father! I should talk other than politics/religion grounds, example like about #sports, #hobbies, #TV/ movies etc. If need arises these above mentioned topic grounds can be taken up during class room teaching .This approach in class room teaching lead teacher to peaceful, cool and relaxed life."

Each One Lift other

The nuclear family is a subset of #joint family,

Each member of #nuclear, 

 Family is connected to each other,

 Member of other nuclear family, 

 Where every other nuclear family, 

 Is also a set of joint families, 

 Where members of the nuclear family, 

 Are bonding with other family through,

 1 Electrovalent Bond 

 2.Covalent Bond 

 3.Co ordinate bond.

 Very tightly and get # integrated,

 In joint families through prevalent bonds, 

 So that no one shows dependence or -#dominance. 

 Working in joint family can be seen, 

 In various equilibrium and #balances. 

 It is seen as unity in #diversity.

Hidden Wisdom

 I was asleep. One alien soul came into my dreams.

He said, "I have something to share with you madam which of course  is personal."

I said, "Dear sir! For sure I would also like to gain some knowledge which you wish to share with me."6

Alien said something very positive to me. I had important conversations with him on many aspects of life.  To me, its meaning could be explained as   'hidden wisdom'. 

I am listing below in the form of salient points for the benefit of each reader.

Alien said” On the friendship front please #invest in friendship"

I said, "To get respect in life please learn to give respect in all  relationships  you are working on."

Alien said," If you want to get energy  please do a good amount of #exercise every day ( giving energy)."

I said, "If you want love in life please be generous in giving #love in life in the form of #blessing, make someone learn a skill etc."

Alien said "If you wish to get #happiness in life please give generously for cause of others happiness, like sharing your books for knowledge or giving your time for teaching others. These activities will give you back the happiness of the same #degree that you have given to people in your surroundings."

I said "If you want money. You please value money first. It means that without money life could be very difficult sometimes. Once this is  clear,   you will wish to give money to the needy and ultimately  get money #back when required."
