Give Sometime to Yourself

My  friend Rekha does night duty at an IT company . Her husband is a gentleman. Rekha's husband does day duty in another company. It so happened that Rekha had to help her mother-in-law with day-to-day chores during the daytime. When her husband comes back home, she has to help her mother in law in a little task for preparing dinner. Somehow, Rekha hardly gets any rest in the daytime. Of course, she has to do night duty at the office.

On the phone, my dear student Rekha said, "I do not understand, Madam, why I always feel exhausted. "

I said, "Dear Rekha, mathematics involved in your day-to-day life #dynamic is very simple. You are working at night and therefore you should get a full 8 hours rest during the  daytime. But somehow you are not able to set your boundaries, therefore please put request at the home front that I need 8 hours rest to work #efficiently at home and #work front. To do so, please request your mother-in-law to arrange for #extra help for day-to-day work from outside. Presently, you are putting your stress under the carpet and trying your best to fulfill all duties assigned to you. In this process, you are putting yourself  physically and emotionally under stress. Please stop doing this."

Rekha said, "I understand that, Madam, you are telling me the truth about my day-to-day dynamics of my life. I have no courage to spell out my problem at home front  that I have limited energy and therefore will be able to do only limited work at home front."

I said, "Dear Rekha, it is high time you settle issues involving in your situation, and please unnecessarily don't put yourself in #stress. Please do not try to become  superwoman. Otherwise, my dear friend, you will buy some physical health issues. Which is not good for your personal health and for your family".

After two months, I got a phone call from dear Rekha, and she said, "Madam, slowly I am taking little steps for my self-care. It is helping me a bit. Sometimes I do say no to some activities of my daily life. That saves my time, and I utilize that time in self-care. Thank you very much for your kind advice."

I said, "Dear Rekha, please concentrate on self-care and the health of all family members and save yourself from unnecessary showbiz exercises. I know it is very difficult for women to do so. But I am sure one can try least. One never know , sometimes a little action taken for a  stress-free life may come in the right direction".

Rekha said, "I  say no to some #activities of my daily life. That saves my time, and I utilize that time in # self-care. Thank you very much for your kind advice."

Moral-Woman's physical and mental well-being is correlated with her self-care. To implement the same, please do not hesitate to say no to some activities at the home front if circumstances compel one to do so.

Are We Following Unnatural Path

I am a science teacher in government school. Many of my good students often come #late to school. They follow unnatural ways of work-life balance. They sleep late and get up late, therefore are often #late to school.

In my co-curricular activity class, I talked to students on the topic" Are we following an unnatural path?"My submissions were as follows.

"If we don't clean our teeth daily. They will start decaying- an example of a natural way. Similarly, if in primary classes we don't clear our fundamentals of science and maths, definitely our fundamentals for #STEM discipline will be #weak because of # unnatural planning. "

I further said, "We are following unnatural paths with nature also. We never care for #natural water springs. We have destroyed many #forests for our needs. Therefore, there is less availability of #trees, hence oxygen. Because of our #greediness in the name of #development, we have polluted our rivers and #oceans with #chemicals. So friends, we ourselves have impacted the environment with #unnatural paths. Consequences of our wrongdoings were shown to us in the form of the # COVID-19 virus in various forms in the years 2020 and 2021. People suffered like anything, Someway  Covid 19 was difficult to handle even by our health experts. Destructive impacts were strong, and their impact on the quality of life of everyone was very distinct.

Moral - I hope we learn positive things from our wrongdoings, that is, following natural paths but not unnatural ones. Are you following natural paths?

Are you pushing yourself to body

I am a science teacher in a government school. My students come from different socio- economical backgrounds, so it is a lot of fun to interact with them and teach them.

I have seen many students who refuse to go on the science exhibition trip organised by the school. I always say, "These co-curricular activities are different from academic activities of school. They bring different aspects of life to you.  By participating in these extracurricular activities, you remain extra active. "

I tell my student a short story," When we die, we are just a body, as active life in us is no more. Simply not availing the opportunity to participate in music, sports competitions offered by the school simply means you are reducing the life inside you. You are trying to become just a body. "

Life is short, please live it to its full potential. Try to do the best possible and enjoy every moment of life. For every activity, please at least give it a try. Never say no without making efforts for an activity opportunity offered by the school. Are you participating  co curricular activities offered  at school.?

Moral- please do not push yourself extremely  to mere  body. Always try to get involved in positive activities offered by the school. Please manage your time accordingly.

Self Disciplined Person

I am a science teacher in a government school. I find students are not self-disciplined, therefore they #encounter so many small problems in life.

The other day I was talking to my students who miss the school bus and come to school in #private vehicle. I said, "Dear students, developing a strong sense of  # self-discipline is very important in life. Every person has #weak points in personality. Overcoming negative traits from one's personality is self-discipline.

I remember when my #domestic help would not come to my house. I really wished to help my mother with household #activities, but I realized I am not self-disciplined enough to do so. Gradually, I made sincere soul #efforts and within in few months, I self-disciplined myself and started #helping my mother. Every personality has natural tendency to take  shortcuts in life. One has to work extra miles to stop oneself from taking shortcuts in life. Then only one will be in a way to self-discipline.

Self-discipline is embracing hardships and rising to challenges in life. One always encounters mental conflict in life. These can only be handled through #self-discipline.

Will power always help one in attaining  self-discipline goals? Along with strong willpower, relaxation is also required. Are you also on path of self discipline?

Moral- one should try ones level best to play out of comfort zone in life to follow the path of self-discipline.

Cost effective Breakfast

I fell asleep, and I saw round faced smiling piece come and started talking to me. I was surprised to see roti at my home, talking to me.

I said, "Dear stale roti, how come you are here. "She said," I know I am stale roti and you are hesitant to consume me in breakfast. "She further said," Madam, I am unconventional choice for breakfast, but very nutritious. '

She said, "I have low glycemic index, and therefore it is good for diabetic patients. Due to the aging process, my carbohydrates break down partially, and therefore I become easier for people to #digest. I have good probiotics, compounds which nourish good bacteria in your gut. I am a neutral canvas, and anyone can paint me with jam, sauce and #butter. "

She further said, "Madam, you are a very busy woman, therefore I #humbly request you to consume this sustainable and cheap breakfast in form  of stale roti(me)."

I was taken aback, and it was time to get up. I thanked stale roti for being so kind to me. I again thanked her for educating me about her good qualities.

Whenever I consume stale roti in breakfast, I remember this dream very vividly. I wish I could meet people like stale roti every day. Do you also believe  in taking stale roti in breakfast?

Moral-Though name is stale roti but it has hidden traits of helping everyone guts.It is used as cost effective  breakfast.

Make your own world

I teach science in a government school. I am in charge of the co-curricular activities of the school.

One day, my student Suman said, " Madam, we get  satisfaction when we feel we are doing the greatest thing in the world because we are doing what we love."

I said, "Dear Suman, for these things, motivation isn't required. What's essentially required is the will to act."

I further said, "Why do you wake up early every morning? Just because you've been told to wake up every day?"

Suman said, " Yes, we all . The daily routine of an average person (including us) has become part of our subconscious. And so are other things in life".

I said, "Suman, A man makes his own way. And all this happens because you have surrendered to your mind. I think you should rise above your mind, know yourself better, and make a choice."

Suman said, "We have to choose ourselves how to spend our lives. How we wish to. Because the greatest thing a man/woman can do is follow his heart.

I said, "Be a revolutionary in your own mind. Fight a battle with your mind, grow your conscience. You won't reach far ahead in life if you work only on days you feel better. Vivekananda says, "work for work’s sake. To act/create is the essence of nature. Nature is itself creation. Bring that nature into you."

I further said, "Now, since you're not doing anything concrete, you can choose anything you want! .Write a book, build an app  always wanted to work on, read something new, learn how to draw, make a film, or visit places. You can fail at what you don't want, so why not take a chance at what you want?"

My friend  Usha said, "Students, the motivation is like bathing. You need it daily. But the will, th is stronger. It becomes your purpose, the reason you're sent here."

I said, " Students, you know how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly? First of all, you should be willing to fly so much that you give up being a caterpillar. The risk of being a nobody should be more painful than the risk you’ll take to accomplish wonders."

Suman said, "So, just chill. Take a moment to let every clutter defog itself. Lose yourself, instead of trying so hard to fit yourself in this world that was never meant to be fit into. The most important thing is to make your own world in this world."

Moral - You must decide your life path. Decide it.   Break your comfort zone. Build your own world.   All you need is hard work, motivation, and willpower. The rest will follow.

Snapshot on social media

I am a school teacher in a government school. Our principal allows to bring mobile #phones to school. Students are very strictly instructed to use the same in rare emergencies. Most of the students go by this rule. They know this very well. If any student is seen making use of #mobile phone for #luxury, then there is a heavy fine that will be charged for the same.

As a teacher, I have observed that students among themselves talk about photos loaded on social media. As a teacher I  find some photos cause #anxiety among students. Students try to compete with each other for the #collection of materialistic things. Which is not a good habit for teenagers.

These important issues, my school principal, Madam,  raise in the ' parents-teacher meeting'. She counsels parents and says, "Parents should see to it that kids do not get attention of show business through social media photos. It is time for them to learn -reading, writing and using hands-on skills in the science lab. School is trying its level best to follow these rules. We teachers will be thankful to parents if they  cooperate in this endeavor of the school. "

Many parents do #co-operate, but some are not able to do so. Teachers' burden in this case becomes more as they have to teach #skills and subject #contents, and at the same time have to #mend children so that they remain away from #social media impact.

Sometimes unknowingly, mothers of kids also talk about #photos on social media with their #kids without realizing that it is time for little pure #souls to gain some knowledge in #science, maths, languages and #communication skills. As a teacher think this can be #avoided.

Moral-Small children are like unbaked pitchers. We as teachers and parents should try our best to equip little angels with good manners, good reading and writing habits and communication skills.
