Parenting Tricks

I have a very disciplined friend, Mr John. He has four school-going kids. He is very supportive for his kids. Making them get up in the morning for school, making a light breakfast for them, etc, is his pleasure. At night, Mr John and his wife keep their children's school uniform ready so that early morning, there are no problems for the kids. Special requirements of children for co-curricular activities, if required by the school(mentioned in the school diary), are also arranged by Mr and Ms John.

John is a believer in strict discipline, which must be followed by kids. As kids grow a little older, John slowly transfers his responsibility, which he was doing for the kids, to them(kids). For example, keeping their school uniform properly in the cupboard. Asking them to arrange special material for their co-curricular activities.

Johns strongly believe that slowly and gradually transforming parents' responsibility towards kids so that those responsibilities become part of kids day to day life is very comforting in kids' lives. Examples like taking a bath, polishing shoes, and packing their own lunch boxes. These activities, though small but a are a big step towards the child's independence.

Johns suggest that this transition has to be Delta x  in nature. If children sometimes miss doing the same, a warning is issued to the kids. But according to John, this practice of giving children responsibility for doing their own things makes them wise, strong and mature.

If parents fail to do this responsibility of transferring small life skills at a younger age, they are creating trouble for children in their future life, especially when they get married. This discipline is very difficult to be inculcated in adulthood.

Moral- pre prerequisite of this training requires that parents are very friendly with kids. Then only they can build up trust in transferring small skills valuable to kids for leading a comfortable life.

Three things to keep in Check

I am a science teacher in a government school. One of my intelligent and mature students, Naresh, runs a coaching center in the city. Naresh is very popular for his quality of work and the degree of empathy he shows his students.

At the Alumni Association function, I had the fortune of meeting my old student Naresh. He said, "Madam, my physical weight has increased due to less physical activity at my coaching center". I said, " Naresh, I am happy for you that you are running a coaching center honestly. But Naresh's body well-being is a must. Therefore, please take a proper diet and do proper exercise also. "

Naresh said, "Madam, nowadays it is very difficult to handle these teenagers. It is difficult to know what is in one's mind. Therefore some sometimes I am emotionally drained".I said "To keep one's emotional levels ok, it is best you meditate at least for half an hour every day. "

Naresh also said, "Madam, keeping one's finances very clear, one has to be really vigilant. I have a very good chartered accountant. But every day, there are new rules to handle one's finances. I have to devote a lot of time per day to make my finances dynamic, transparent, and straightforward."

I said, " It is true, sir, in this world of high technology, if one makes a small mistake in maintaining the physical weight of one's body, a high emotional quotient and transparency in finances, one is going to be in a lot of trouble, sir. "

Naresh said, "Madam, to make all three listed parameters relating to my business straight, I do yoga and physical exercise to keep my physical weight within boundaries.

2. To make my emotional quotient high, I do meditation every day.

3. To help my finances remain straight, I do a lot of philanthropy wherever, ever, whenever required. I am planning to open a school for underprivileged children in our society.  About the tax deduction also I am also very particular, Madam.

I said, "Naresh, we teachers are so happy with your activities. School is so proud of you."  ,

God bless you, dear Naresh, for your efforts; you are putting in all positive activities to build the future of our country. May you get brilliant success in your passion."

Emotional Distancing

My friend Sarla teaches physics in the premier Institute of #India. Students in her Institute get admission through tough #competition.

According to Sarla, "Some first-year students look  #exhausted. They have no #enthusiasm to try something new facility available in #Institute. "

Sarla says, "They seem to be # burnout souls. Actually, it seems they are not able to #cope with the wide curriculum of the degree course in which they are admitted.

One of my Dr friend also says something similar. According to her, "some doctors in her hospital are not able to #cope with their job. They do not treat #patients as humans. Sometimes they treat them as #objects. Actually, they make emotional distance from their #patients. Drs. behave in such a way that they are # burned out in their profession."

In the teaching profession also some teachers are not ready to solve any problem of their students. They are always ready with an answer that #nothing can be done. Actually, these teachers are # burnout for some reason in their personal life and therefore behave in a #similar manner. "

Mortal -it is good to work hard to achieve one's #goal in life. But one should also have some #relaxing activity like #playing music, reading good literature, etc., at his/her disposal so that they should never have a feeling of # burnout.

Philosophy implementation in Real Life

I am science teacher in government school. I as teacher believe in fact some rules of #philosophy which one believes should be #implemented in real life. The same advice I give to my students whenever I get platform to do so.

My submissions are following. I am listing some of them for my respected students and #esteem readers.

If I happen to borrow book/ notes from library I make it a point to #return in time. Same rule I apply if I happen to #borrow money from a person.

I as teacher respect every person involved in #teaching/learning endeavour honestly.

I practice writing on some or other topic which I think worth writing. This activity give me #satisfaction and peace. Same I paste on notice board of my school.

I do discourage my self to present myself on #social media Facebook/Instagram.

I try my best to take out some time from my busy schedule to read english/hindi newspaper. That make my self to remain in touch with my country #salient news.

I do #spiritual activity in morning at home before leaving for school. That makes my #conscious clear and that spiritual energy keeps me going.

I take care of the needs and #academic co-curricular activities of my own children also. For that, I give them quality time.

Regularly, I try my best to remain up date with #digital technology educational tools so that I can do #justice to my students.

I think science education is not complete without #practicals. Sometimes I call my older students #half an hour early to school to set up an experiment in the lab, which I #demonstrate to lower class students whom I am involved in teaching. This practice makes students have a habit of #gratitude expression toward school; at the same time, they get into the habit of #helping younger students.

Education is a way #process. To make learning smooth and easy, I take the help of art #activity. Students who are good at arts, I take their help in making #good figures with good color combination, and use the same to explain concepts like #chemical bonding, use of #mitochondria in cell function, to my visual learner.

I take help from good active students to make #educational collage of the contents of my lecture to make my #visual learners good and efficient in science.

My overall aim is to develop #critical thinking and analytical power of my students. All these activities I do in school make me equipped to be a better and #humble person and mother at home. For that, I am grateful to the Almighty and the respected school #administration and #authorities.

Moral -Being a teacher is a big #responsibility. The teacher has to develop over all personality of children. With the impact of science #technology, one should introduce new #education tools while teaching.

After Marriage

I never used to #help my mother in # household work.

I was always busy in my #academic and non-academic

 activities.

After I got #married, I realized how much mothers

do a lot of hard work for the #family - cooking

different types of #meals to satisfy

everyone’s needs, #cleaning everything big or

small. These are not easy things to do.

Mothers may not #accept that they sometimes feel

that they are doing a #thankless job, but they are

broken inside for #staying at home all

the time and #waiting for kids to come home

everyday. ( I know fathers do a lot of hard work) , but here

I wish to concentrate on things that I realized

 after marriage.

Cooking is a basic skill - it is not a man's

Or a woman #skill, I treat cooking as something

One does to #pamper oneself.

All this I realized after marriage.

I wish I had always been that way at home

before the marriage, but #alas, I was not.

If you happen to marry the right person and

you get #lucky with the situations -marriage

is #freedom. Parents won't be scared of

What do you do anymore? But if luck is not in your

favour, things after marriage can be #complicated.

.

After marriage, I realized home is where your

#husband lives. Everything that you lived before

Was #temporary. Before marriage, I always wanted

to see my mother whenever I came home, like

I will be #shouting, ma, “ from the door itself

 until I find her.

Now, after marriage, I search for #him(husband).

After marriage, priorities change in life.

Marriages are very hard to work on,

but the only way it works is when - “

Both of them wanted to make it work” .#Respect for

Each other is key.

This also

I realized after marriage.

Algebra of personality Traits

I am a science teacher in a government school. Students sometimes have heated #arguments among themselves on burning issues. Sometimes, to clear their concept, like # self-respect, # self-discipline and # self-confidence, they will ask me a few relevant questions about the same.

My submissions were as follows

I said "self respect' as the name suggests, to do something positive in life, one should respect # oneself. # Self-care is pre prerequisite of # self-respect. One should know one's poor and #strong qualities. What one likes from inside is an indication of positive qualities. Outside #pressure can not yield a person down who has # self-respect.

# Self-discipline is incorporating good qualities in oneself by working outside one's comfort zone. # Self-discipline comes from inside and not from outside. Self self-disciplined person works on oneself to get #desired results.

Self-respect + self-discipline confidence.

This algebraic equation describes the relationship between two important #personality traits. A person with # self-confidence can do many hard things without pain and mental agitation. A person with self-confidence can fulfill and nurture his/her needs and excel in his/her passion.

Moral: To do #positive things in one's life, one should work on building self-confidence in one's personality.

Lesson from Lush Green Tapestry

Satpuna unique dense forest is nested in #tapestry of Madhya Pradesh(India). Eco walk in its #lush greenery greets one extremely beautiful nature. It's rich #biodiversity offers an unforgettable experience.

My uncle Vardan Kohli was a forest officer and was posted in #satpura forest. Whenever  Kohli uncle used to come for an official assignment to our metro city, he would make a point to visit us also. Once he came with his assistant Raju. Raju was a local boy living in Satpuna forest and did not know how to speak English. Raju used to play with children. His #sports skills were very good. Therefore, every child in our colony was fond of Raju.

When Raju went back to #Satpuna Jungle, he told his friends about the culture of the city that he visited with Mr Kohli.

Raju's father knew how to write in the English language. He wrote a small article describing #culture in big cities-as told by his son Raju to him. My uncle told me the contents of the same  on the phone. To help my students know about #Raju's experiences in Metro City, I wrote a small article and pasted it on the notice board of the school. The same I am listing below for my esteemed readers.

In big metro cities, there are hardly any person who wishes to learn from the experiences of #senior citizens.Every child thinks that he/she is very intelligent. Hardly any child takes lassi and #curd in their everyday diet. On one hand, they continuously keep complaining about #soar throat and #nose blocking problems. On the other hand, they prefer drinking tea and strongly believe tea gives them a lot of #comfort. On social front, they hardly #write letters to each other but are fond of sending #messages on what's up on their mobile phone. They spend many hours sitting in the #air conditioner. Children go to school with very heavy bags which contain a lot of copies and #heavy books. Every person is surrounded by a lot of #materialistic comfort-giving apparatus, but somehow everyone in the city is feeling #uncomfortable and is not at peace with oneself in this metro cities.

But  Raju was very happy living in #satpuna dense forest. He felt near to nature, where hardly any facilities available in #metro cities were available to Raju. Satpuna forest gives Raju peace and a feeling of being near to God-a pure bliss and #tranquility.
