Thoughts and Feelings


I am a science teacher in a government school. I am in charge of the co-curricular activities of the school.


One student asked me, "Madam, you are always teaching us to keep #good thoughts in our mind and remain away from #negative thoughts. We agree to your suggestion, Madam. I will be grateful if you could please enlighten me a little bit more about the same."


My student Rajesh said, "Negative thoughts cause negative feelings, which lead to negative behaviors, which then reinforce the original negative thoughts. "

I said, "Thoughts are your internal dialogue, ideas, beliefs, and the stories you tell yourself about a situation. They are often conceptual. Feelings are your emotional and physical reactions. They can be expressed as joy, sadness, or fear that arise in response to thoughts or external stimuli."

My friend Usha said, "Dear student, if you feel like a failure, it is  a thought, while the actual feeling might be sadness or fear, so friends a thought is a story which  you've constructed around that feeling."

I said, "Dear student, yes, I strongly believe that if one thinks that one will be #beaten in x competition, one will. Similarly, if one thinks that one will lose, then surely one will #lose. Therefore, I request you my students to #think high to raise oneself. One should form the habit of being sure in thoughts before one wishes to go high in performance. "


I further said," Every student has to fight his/her own battle to achieve their goal in life; therefore, friends please remember that it is not #necessary one will win the battle if one is #strongest of all. A prerequisite of the same is to win the battle of life always #THINK I CAN." One's thinking affects one's #feelings. When one's thoughts and feelings are in #equilibrium, one acts in life. Simplest logical mathematical #fundamental equation of life THINK I CAN."


My friend Usha said, "  Thoughts influence feelings, and feelings influence thoughts, which in turn influence behavior. This creates a continuous  cycle."


Moral "Understanding that feelings are natural reactions, and thoughts are a way of processing those feelings, can help you respond to day-to-day activities of life with confidence.
