Positive Thinking Among Students

In this world of science and technology, one observes that there are more cases of hopelessness, sadness and loneliness found among students than there were ten years back.

One wonders what is root cause of the same is. Parents, teachers and caregivers are deeply concerned about the mental health of students.

The question is, can a school provide a mental health program to its students? Can positive thinking be taught to students? General observation is that students who believe in science-based happiness feel satisfied in life. These students are positive thinkers and positive doers, also.

What is the science of happiness

Three factors which predict happiness are 1. genetic, 2. life 3. circumstances

All three above-listed factors depend on one's culture. Gratitude, kindness and optimistic thinking are key traits of one's personality that contribute to student positive psychology.

If schools work on character building and give skills of gratitude and empathy to their students, then a major part of positive psychology is being covered in school. Parents can make a habit of asking their children to write three positive things that they did today in note notebook.

This way, informal training in positive psychology given by the school and parents can go a long way in making a solid foundation for students who ultimately become good citizens of the country.

Respectful Parenting

I am teaching in school. The school has an alumni Association. Every year school has an alumni Association function. It's a real pleasure to see our students doing so well in life and contributing positively to society and the nation.

I met my student, Krishna, at the alumni function of the school. She is teaching science in a government school. She has a child, Suresh, studying in the eighth standard. Krishna said," Madam, my son Suresh is so much screen dependent, and I am finding it difficult to make him balance screen and off-screen life. "I said, "Krishna's children habits don't change over night. Kindly be patient. Instead of showing anger, please be suggestive. Make sure Suresh does some outdoor activities. For implementing same parents also have to come out of their comfort zone. As parents, you also spend some time with Suresh.

More time off-screen is key to a child's development. Spend quality time with him. Take him to the science museum, etc., if possible. If Suresh is taking outside help in the subject, please supervise his work in a friendly way.

Krishna was so happy to find a solution to her son's problem in my suggestions. She said, "Thanks, madam, for the help. I will try all the suggested little tricks and will talk to you for further advice on the phone. "

I am so happy, after one month, I received a dear Krishna phone call. She said," Madam Suresh is improving, and he is very happy that his parents are helping him instead of being angry."

Moral of the story. -Please do respect full parenting. Please respect the child's passion and give the child room to develop his/her passion and creativity.

Street food

Every smart city has a culture of street hawkers. Street food is famous because its cost is within the reach of the common man. Especially on the weak end and holidays, it is more enjoyable. Street hawker streets are more active at night than during the day. In India, in Bombay paw vara every everyone enjoys street food. In Uttar Pradesh, India, one can find a street hawker selling curd jalebi in the morning and aaloo samosa in the evening. In Gujarat, people are so excited to eat pani puri and paw bhaji at street corners.

How to sustain street food treat

The problem in India is that big cities are expanding. Due to the availability of Jones, people from small cities are migrating to big cities. Due to these reasons, resources like clean places available for hawkers are becoming less and very essential parts of the availability of clean water are decreasing. Due to global warming temperature of streets is on the rise; therefore, there are chances that street food can go bad very fast. All this creates a problem of infection in humans. Hence, many people in Cuties are afraid to try their hand at street food. Cities that used to feel proud of street food are finding it tough to sustain a variety of street food through hawkers.

Finally, to be very frank, I must say the future of street food hawkers is not very bright due to the high industry culture.

Playing odd rough palms

I am a retired associate professor of chemistry from India. I have two children daughter and a son. I very humbly wish to share my parenting tips so that all interested parents can benefit from my experiences. I wish to state that when I was teaching in college, I always found myself equivalent to a mother for my students, research scholars and tutors who helped me in teaching and science-related research endeavors lab.

To speak very frankly, I trained myself so much so that I always kept positive sentiments toward students, researchers and my own children, which helped me to become a positive teacher, researcher, administrator and mother. Even I could find some time to spend fruitfully in my home lab(kitchen) and, in a way, could transfer my cooking analytical skills to my children. I remained focused and still, after retirement, I have a passion for science, arts writing. I have published two poetry books to train young minds (Digital link of my books available on Amazon is listed below) so that they can face their complex life in the future.

I am listing my poem "Playing Odd-Rough Palms" below, which illustrates the spirit of parenting

Playing Odd Rough Palms

Don't ask what

"Rough palms." It is just not a designation or a job

It is also not a family income source

These "rough palms" Have flowed right,

 With aims and goals bright,

These palms make a path, with fragrance sweet and wide,

They are inquisitive,  like "water well" thirsty,

They are capable of bringing, moon to Earth while playing

In odds.

Rough palms act as friends,  Mother- Father to the orphan head,

Sometimes when playing in odd,

These palms are no longer there,

But still, it seems, they are always with us.

For one's well fare, these rough🤲 palms,

Change many formats, they are neither.

Neither trees nor leaves, they act as manure,

to deserving, while playing the odds.

"Rough palms " are like live  painting relations,

Of the teacher who taught,

They are like kites, which can keep one alive,

Whatever the physical format may be,

Or the appearance of these rough palms,

They always do the best  on Earth,

Even if they have to play, the odds on sky infinite.

Friends! "Rough palms "are hard,

Working parent woman scientist,

Working in a research lab,

 They are also teachers,

Mothers -sisters are great.

Rough palms work tirelessly, solving hidden variables,

Equation of society-life, while at the same time, In their own life,

Playing with the odd, handling different types, and hidden variables.

Sukarma Thareja

Moral -To summarise, I am also listing my 10 value tips for parenting, which I have executed time to time in my life. And still I am passionate about them.

  PARENTS

2. should be inquisitive in nature and must try to answer each question of the kid.

3. should be thirsty to help children like thirsty "water well".

4. should act as friends to children and be needed.

 5. should have many formats to help

They should neither be like trees nor leaves,

They should act as manure for the deserving.

6.behavior with kids should be like teacher taught,

7. should act like kites, which could keep learners' spirits alive and keep them going.

8.parents  rough palms should work tirelessly solving the hidden variables of day-to-day life, involved in problems to help kids and the needy.

9. should at the same time be involved in solving Equations of society-life.

Back Bone of Artist

I am  teaching in school. My friend Kesar is an art teacher in the same school. She is a very creative artist. For the open house activity at school, my friend has put different form of art that she happen to teach in school. There were entries from crayon colours, wax colours, water paint, oil paint and spatula painting.

I also do science arts writing, and to make my chemistry lessons effective, I, with the help of students, make art educational colleges and sometimes digital educational collages. I had also put many of the chemistry digital educational collages. Those were pleasant surprises for the esteemed guests of our open house activity at school. On the whole exhibition was much appreciated by visitors. The main reason was how the school is helping students enhance their creative power. A little paragraph about different forms of art being taught in school, and a special mention of the Chemistry Educational College was made in the news.

In discussion with students, I asked one humble question to a student: "Dear student 1, Who is the artist who uses heart and spirit as their/medium of expression in art.

2. Who is back backbone of all the little artists who participated in the exhibition?

The question was answered by our intelligent student. He said, "Madam's answer to both above-listed questions .

Is Teachers.

Price for not speaking at right time

I am a school teacher. Radha, my friend, is teaching science in my school. Radha comes from a conservative family where early marriage for girls is considered best for daughters.

Radha is blessed with three beautiful children. She is in a joint family. Where every decision about the family is taken by the head of the joint family.

Radha got married when she was doing M. Sc. (Previous). When her arranged marriage was fixed by her parents, she did not express that she wanted to complete M. Sc. This regret she still has in life.

Moral of the Story. -One has to pay the price for not speaking for the right issue at the right time.

Getting very Fast Results

The other day, I was talking to students in school. One student said, "Science and technology tools work very fast, and one can get results overnight.

I said, "Dear student, it is not the right statement. Take the example of Chandrayaan. All of us know to reach moon South Pole how much Isro scientists worked hard for days together for years. Another factor that contributes to big success is not overnight work but consistent work. Please, student, now we have science technology tools with artificial intelligence software ready for us. Still, consistent hard work can only give the desired results.

Moral of the story -it's ok, we have good science technology tools along with a unique concept of artificial intelligence with us to get the desired scientific results. But pre prerequisite of the same is consistent hard work, which we can't deny. Technology give you speed.Your thoughtgives you direction
