Respectful Parenting

I am teaching in school. The school has an alumni Association. Every year school has an alumni Association function. It's a real pleasure to see our students doing so well in life and contributing positively to society and the nation.

I met my student, Krishna, at the alumni function of the school. She is teaching science in a government school. She has a child, Suresh, studying in the eighth standard. Krishna said," Madam, my son Suresh is so much screen dependent, and I am finding it difficult to make him balance screen and off-screen life. "I said, "Krishna's children habits don't change over night. Kindly be patient. Instead of showing anger, please be suggestive. Make sure Suresh does some outdoor activities. For implementing same parents also have to come out of their comfort zone. As parents, you also spend some time with Suresh.

More time off-screen is key to a child's development. Spend quality time with him. Take him to the science museum, etc., if possible. If Suresh is taking outside help in the subject, please supervise his work in a friendly way.

Krishna was so happy to find a solution to her son's problem in my suggestions. She said, "Thanks, madam, for the help. I will try all the suggested little tricks and will talk to you for further advice on the phone. "

I am so happy, after one month, I received a dear Krishna phone call. She said," Madam Suresh is improving, and he is very happy that his parents are helping him instead of being angry."

Moral of the story. -Please do respect full parenting. Please respect the child's passion and give the child room to develop his/her passion and creativity.
