In school, myself and Radha were close #friends. We used to discuss our personal level #problems along with day-to-day problems we faced, in the academic world -in each chapter -each subject.
In our friendship bond, we used to #respect each other Very much. I will always bring an extra sandwich/ parantha for my friend for lunch. Radha will bring extra Dosa, and idli for me for lunch. Very fondly we used to share lunch.
Our interest in co-curricular activities was also on the same frequency. The debate was our favorite co-curricular activity. We both will sit and structure our speeches. We used to learn classical #music from the same teacher.
I got admission to a good university college for a B.Sc (Hons) degree. My friend Radha did coaching for the NEET examination and got admission to one of the good #medical colleges in the city.
Life of both friends(myself-Radha) was very busy in our respective #colleges. We could hardly get time/opportunity to meet each other in person. That was not the time of #mobile phones also. Therefore only communication was through the exchange of #letters.
As luck would have it, I met Radha after 5 years. Radha was a general #physician now and was planning to join in good hospital as a physician. I was about to join the #Ph.D program in a good institution.
I was very happy to meet Radha but I found she is a different person altogether. Her political and personal beliefs were entirely different from mine.
I did realize that all this difference in their personality of Radha was all because of the people she was surrounded by in medical college, the books she read the news consumed and the movies she watched were much different from mine. Therefore though in our lives we were together at some point now we were #driffted apart from that point. It was positive in a way that we were different individuals with unique personality traits. The only thing common was our past experiences, we shared them. We had sweet #memories of those unique experiences.
Now when I look back I find, I still have sweet memories of my friend Radha with me.
Radha is stelled in the US now. Sometimes we do exchange pleasant messages but we never try to impose our old #friendship on each other. Of course, we both respect each other.
It so happens Sometimes husband /wife makes this mistake in their relationship. One expects other person to be the same or change on the same #frequency as he/ she is #changing. This is not always possible. The best is to #accept and respect each other even if you have a difference of opinion and grow in life.
